About Oxford Public Schools Music

According to estimates from Feeding America, more than 516,000 (1 in 7) Connecticut residents struggle with hunger; more than 122,000 (1 in 6) children are food insecure. There is a growing need for food assistance in every community. Sometimes the difference between a family that uses a food program and one that doesn’t is the sudden loss of a job, an illness or an unexpected rise in health care or utilities expenses. To provide adult role models of altruism for our students and to create an awareness of the food insecurity reality for so many of our neighbors in CT, the Oxford Public Schools Music Department would like to contribute to the solution of food insecurity in our town and in our state by making voluntary donations to CT Foodshare.

Reaching the goal of $1,000 in donations for the school year will result in a series of lessons and adjudication services from professional musician and Arts Administrator/Music Educator Rick Sadlon to Oxford Middle School Music students at no cost to the district.
