Runners Will Make Strides to Fight Food Insecurity

Dr. Tris Carta, President of the Manchester Road Race Committee, announced that food insecurity will be the primary charitable focus of this year’s Manchester Road Race, which will be held at 10 a.m. in Manchester on Thanksgiving Day (November 27, 2025).

Connecticut Foodshare is the largest food bank serving the people of Connecticut. Last year, we provided over 44 million meals through a network of over 600 food pantries, community kitchens, meal programs, and mobile food pantries. More than 516,000 individuals, or 1 in 7 people in our state, are experiencing food insecurity. This includes over 122,000 children who are unsure where their next meal will come from. Connecticut Foodshare is committed to providing healthy, nutritious food for our neighbors and working on long-term solutions to food insecurity.

Together, we can create a thriving community where no one goes hungry. For every
$1 you give Connecticut Foodshare can provide up to 2 meals. Will you join us?
